PLM Global’s Success Brings More Job Opportunities to Nottingham

We may have only formed in 2014, but we have come a long way over the past 6 years. The recent opening of our new flagship repair & distribution centre in Nottingham has solidified our Midlands presence and has allowed us to offer valuable new jobs within the local community.
Specialising in the supply, repair and maintenance of hand-held capture devices, mobile print and EPoS hardware, we could easily have succumbed to trading challenges brought about by the ‘double-whammy’ of COVID and Brexit.
Instead, thanks to our team’s clever planning, flexibility and a strong ambition to succeed, we have thrived. Over the last 18 months we’ve seen our employees increase from just 4 to 21, added another 100 clients to our customer base of 458 and have increased total turnover to an impressive £3.1 Million.
We’re proud to say that as well as increasing our capacity to support clients with legacy equipment, our new East Midlands base will provide opportunities for 2 or 3 local young adults via the Kickstarter Apprentice scheme, alongside more experienced recruits.
Providing opportunities in the local area is important to us as a company as we recognise the significant reduction in investment in young people during the pandemic. We want to pave the way for the next generation by providing a route to gain experience in the workplace – our particular workplace being a great place to be, according to our employees!
Our new flagship site not only brings our operations right back to the centre of the country, but it is also part of our wider growth strategy which we hope will help us achieve our goal of £5 Million turnover within the next 3 years. This ambitious plan involves growing our number of end-users by increasing the supply of OEM products, whilst continuing to provide high quality refurbished legacy products.
Having this extra Nottingham base also ensures that we can remain resilient in the longer term as it gives us more options in the supply of our products throughout the UK and across the world. We are already trading in 6 different continents, despite UK business leaders’ fears that Brexit was likely to curtail global business.
Our proud Managing Director, Shane Watson, had this to say:
“We are a relatively young company and that has allowed us to be agile. We have focussed on tailoring our solutions to clients’ needs, helping them with inventory to meet changes in demand and even offering shorter-term service agreements. We also invested in our global profile with projects such as our ecommerce site and added vertical markets to bolster the peaks and troughs of the retail sector. The new flagship site in Nottingham, and the opportunities it has created, has been the absolute icing on the cake!”
Here at PLM Global we’re a dynamic, innovative business that knows where we want to be and how to get there. We’re growing fast and have an exciting future ahead, but as our company grows, we need our team to grow with it! We employ the best to achieve the best, exceeding expectations every step of the way.
